Welcoming In the Year of the Dog

Happy Chinese New Year's Everyone,

I LOVE this holiday and revel in knowing that so many people around the world are celebrating it.

Here's the Fairy for our new Year of the Dog.

Chinese New Year - 18 Dog.jpg

Isn't he fun, with his super red body and white flowers?  I love his "Happy, Easy New Year" greeting.

Here's some nice words I came across in a blog called Refinery 96 -

"Whatever sign you may be, the year of the Dog is a great time to reach out to those around you and become a friendly presence in their lives, if not a true friend. And, if you're already speaking out for your values, you just might get an energizing boost this year."

I hope you can a way for these thoughts and the Year of the Dog to weave their way into your life.

On we go, friends.

Wishing you all the best!

Light Thoughts Lofting You Up

Dear Friends of Bluebird Fairies,

Hello!  I hope you're doing great.

Today my Fairy Blog is going to be short and sweet.

In order to get closer to the light launch of my 'Fairy of the Day' app I've needed to streamline my activities.

My last, for a while, event in my studio happened on February 2nd.  We celebrated the gifts of the 3 kings.  What were they?  Compassion, Creativity and Connection.

Today, using all of those gifts I present you with the fairy I received at random from the 100 fairies in our "Fairy of the Day' prototype.  Here she is, to help us all along-

Lightweight Thoughts Lofting you.jpg

Yes, we can keep moving forward through the snow, the clutter, the dust, the dreariness, by lifting up our heads, picking up our things and blowing fresh new air all around us.

Have fun and I'll continue to share my merry insights as we move along.

All the best,

Emily and the Bluebird Fairies

A Celtic Midwinter Fairy

Dear Friends of Bluebird Fairies,

Hello.

I've been enjoying the 'Fairy of Winter' which I shared with you in a previous blog.  Her green boots especially delight me.

Now, as I present to you my newest fairy I think she's got a lot to do with inspiring those green boots to find green, growing things.

Here she is!

Imbolc.jpg

It's the 'Fairy of Imbolc' standing proudly on the snow holding two green candle that light a dark blue sky with yellow stars.

Here's a writing by Sherri Rose-Walker (Mother Tongue Ink 2017) that was included in this year's We'Moon Calendar.

"Imbolc"

Deep beneath winter's surface, the earth serpent stirs, called from dreaming as subtle energies shift and earth's longing for light, sheltered in winter dreaming, is born.  We lift hopeful candles and torches to the night sky, calling to the moon and her starry attendants, invoking the return of light.

This Celtic New Year celebration is thought to have originated long ago.  February, in the northern hemisphere, is still bitterly cold, and the darkness long. But memory stirs, more ancient than anything we have dreamed in the sable night, as our bodies and the body of earth resonate with the gradual unfolding of spiral energies from the heart of creation.

Now, as then, we seek a place where we can feel living earth beneath our feet, offer prayers, poems, songs, dance invocations and blessings.  We open our arms and heart to the light--that it may unfold in the world and in us, that we may be candles of prayer and blessing wherever we go."

Onward we go.  I hope this time assists your life in moving forward with your wishes and good dreams.

Have fun!

Emily and the Bluebird Fairies

For those of you in the Burlington area, we're having a 'First Friday' event at Bluebird Fairies' studio on Friday February 2nd from 5-7.  That's actually the official day of "Imbolc."  Our event, called The Gifts of the 3 Kings Revealed, will surely benefit from the new light and hopeful actions. I hope you can come.

Gifts that Keep Giving

Dear Friends of Bluebird Fairies,

Oh, I hope this finds you in a moment where you can take a breath and rest.

So much is going on these days and it can be hard to keep a constant, gentle focus on ourselves.

Perhaps, this can be a moment to quiet yourself and reconnect with YOU?

The fairy I've chosen to share today is-

Untangles.jpg

Let's hear it for the "Fairy that Untangles the Lovely Life You're Living!"

I created her as a gift for a young woman who works with me in the Bridging Program at Champlain Community Services.

I've shared her with friends of mine and they REALLY like her.  While considering how much RESONANCE she has with others I realized that I, too, gravitate to her support. Do you?

What, in your lovely life, feels tangled today?

I know this fairy's easy energy will support the untangling.

Have fun!

With Best Wishes,

Emily and the Bluebird Fairies

Winter is Here

Dear Friends of Bluebird Fairies,

Happy New Year.  We are here.

I've been  waiting to share with you the fairy I made in December to welcome in Winter.

Winter 2018 1.jpg

Here she is, in icy shades of blue and wearing green boots, saying "Easily head to the light."

Oh, 'Fairy of Winter' that's a good reminder.  Now that the bustle and focus on the holidays are over the ice and snow and cold feel a lot more present.

I like to walk in the evening in the dark along the river.  While I do this I often feel kind of forlorn. I don't mind though because it makes me feel connected to the ancestors of the Earth.  I like to think this feeling is what inspires people to sit together around campfires. When I have this feeling I'm very aware of what other things I'm feeling.

During the winter these feelings can help guide us to move our lives in the directions we want.  To finding others doing things we believe in. They become the seeds we plant and then wait for the light and the spring to allow them to grow -like garlic overwintering in a garden plot.

Trust this process.  Be OK with the stillness.  Be committed to finding the seeds and planting them. And trusting that as we head toward the  light it will come.

Wishing you all the best in this journey,

Emily and the Bluebird Fairies

We're having our First Fairy and Demon Drawing Workshop of the new year.  This is a GREAT space in which to manage the feelings of winter and support them in becoming positive seeds for new growth.  Join us if you can.
