Happy, Healthy, Hollydaze to You!

Dear Friends of Bluebird Fairies,

The season of light is around us.

Many years ago I made a commitment to myself to move through this time by enjoying the lights of the season, the music and the opportunities to gather together.

Hollydaze.jpg

Last night at the Hive Open Mic I performed a piece that did just that. Together I and the audience sang 3 songs and in each we did something together. In one we rang bells, in another, we thought of moments that held Compassion, Creativity and Connection and acknowledged times when we had obstacles that kept us from them. Finally, we turned the lights down low and held little votive candles while singing and humming a song together. In the darkness we made silent wishes for ourselves and then rang ourselves back into the rest of the evening of performance.

I wish all of these things for you in this season.

And…I hope I see you. It’s been a while since I’ve had my Fairy Card Reading sign out. Next weekend at the Hive Pop-up Shop and Holiday Party I’ll be doing just that. Please stop in if you can and say ‘hello.’

I’ll be in touch again soon.

Much fondness to all of you,

Emily and the Bluebird Fairies

Flying Geese

Hello Friends of Bluebird Fairies,

Three weeks ago I began to conduct a workshop that playfully supports the growth of community awareness. It’s called “Inner Goose Certification.”

At the foundation of this workshop is a text that came to me in a remarkable way this summer called ‘Five Lessons of Geese(click to read).

The premiere was at the Hive Open Mic on October 5th and here’s a Fairy to Celebrate its advent:

As we move forward in these uncertain times it’s important to find community. A wonderful assistance I’ve found for this is Jen Hofmann’s American’s of Conscience Checklist (click to connect). She’s a fan of Bluebird Fairies and I’m a fan of the way she’s engaging us in positive actions that assist us in creating communities we want to create.

On we go!

Have a great day!

Fairy of Good Grandpa

Dear Friends of Bluebird Fairies,

Art Hop was wonderful. Thank you to all who stopped in. Our studio had a magical feeling in it.

2018.jpg

I used the opportunity of the South End Art Hop to celebrate the growth of my little line drawings into a company called Bluebird Fairies that bears the tag line- “Earnest Drawings to Help You Do BIG THINGS.”

For this I had an exhibit about my marriage to Brian Merrill this summer; the man I met 4 years ago when I first exhibited my “fairies.” I also performed my new ‘Fairy of the Day’ promoting Crankie Show, ‘Accomplishing Big Things’, 12 times to enthusiastic audiences on Saturday.

On Sunday a wonderful group of 16 gathered to sing along to the soundtrack of the movie HAIR. I was touched to be with others who know this music by heart.

Todays’ Fairy, picked at random, from the Bluebird Fairy Deck is:

’The Fairy of Good Grandpa’ has been showing up a lot recently. Good Grandpa contains all the energy you need to succeed in something. My Grandfather gave me this energy the entire time he was alive in my life. This fairy supports his ability to continue to do this.

In this instance, I know he’s supporting these next steps for Bluebird Fairies. The ones in which Bluebird Fairies begins growing into what it will be. I know, because of the ‘Good Grandpa’ it can.

Please take this amazing power into your own life. Have fun!

We’ll be in touch.

Fairy of the Up Do Hair

Dear Friend of Bluebird,

I hope you're easily shifting into the new season of school and other beginnings.

For artists in the South End Arts District the South End Art Hop season is gearing up.  It's Labor Day and lots of us artists are here getting our studios ready.

I'm looking forward to talking about the earnest magic of Bluebird Fairies this coming weekend.

Here's a Fairy that will be with me:

Up Do Hair Do.jpg

Who is the 'Fairy of the the Up Do Hair' with her cherry exclamations of "Let's Do the Do!?" Well, she's one of a great band of fairies that assisted me in my marriage to Brian Merrill on August 11th.  I hope, if you can, you can come meet them all.

Here's my schedule:

Friday 5-10  Meeting, Greeting, Fairy Card Readings, Fairy of the Day Demos

Saturday 10-6 Multiple performances of the new crankie show "Accomplishing Big Things" and Fairy of the Day app demonstrations.

Sunday 11-5  General Chit Chat AND 1:01-2:02- The Hair Sing-a-long (with my records of the soundtrack from the Movie).

Fairy of the Gold Candle

Dear Bluebird Fairy Friends,

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying that last bit of summer before we shift into the different energy that school life brings.

I've not written for a bit because I was getting married to my Fairy Prince, Brian Merrill.

Our wedding was a wonderful event on a hill in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.  Many people played important roles to make it a wonder-filled time for all.

Today, I want to dedicate this blog to a fairy that celebrates a wonderful role that a woman stepped into without even knowing it.  The magic in life is that we humans can do this for each other when the conditions are right.

Here she is:

Fairy of the Gold Candle.jpg

The very last stanza of our wedding happened on Monday night when we'd returned to Burlington after a week on Crystal Lake.

I'd lost the candle the people at the restaurant we'd just eaten at had lit for us when they learned we'd just been married.  A woman helped us look for it in the City Market parking lot where it'd fallen out of the car.  We couldn't find it but when this woman sincerely and formally gave us her good thoughts about our future marriage she became the Golden Candle.

Keep finding the magic in every encounter with the natural world, with yourself and with others.

Have fun!

Fondly,

Emily and the Bluebird Fairies
