Fairy of the Little Apple Tree - Small Business Saturday 10% Off
Dear Friends of Bluebird Fairies,
I hope this blog post finds you well and feeling a sense of hope growing around you in spite of things being different in our lives.
Today’s post features a NEW FAIRY, recently created to honor a small tree taken down to create room for a new endeavor- African Eggplants!
Seeing the felled tree opened up a sadness in me that led me, once again, to Ted Andrews. Here’s what emerged after reading Nature Speak:
Oh, the ‘Fairy of the Little Apple Tree!’ You’re just as sweet as that little tree. I love seeing your smile and feeling your exclamations of “Happiness and Healing are Near.”
It’s happened already 4 times this year but it's still remarkable. The drawing of the fairy was turned into an official fairy card! The first person to receive the ‘Fairy of the Little Apple Tree’ is a dear friend of Bluebird Fairies we’re holding tightly wrapped in our fairy arms.
This fairy and 4 more, now, comprise a supplemental collection of cards called ‘Rejuvenation’ you can add to your existing fairy decks OR have on hand to assist recharging your energy. You can find these here in our web site shop.
Hurrah, it’s the holiday shopping season! Bluebird will be having a variety of sales, incentives and notices (Such as our upcoming New Year’s Eve Activities - LIVE Fairy Card Readings and Demon Drawing Workshops!!)
Our first SALE starts Saturday- We’ll be honoring Small Business Saturday by offering 10% off on all of our web site sales. Just enter SMALLBIZ as the coupon code.
Once again Bluebird Fairies is taking part in the Women’s Festival of Crafts which has moved on-line. Please support the work of local crafters.
As we move through these times please light up your lives and the lives of others whenever you can.
All the best,
Emily and the Bluebird Fairies
Heart Thumping Love
Hello Friends of Bluebird!
In her monthly forecast, Lena, of the Powerpath Seminars and School of Shamanism, shared this slogan for October- “Keep Going No Matter What!” I have to admit, I’ve found it very helpful as we’ve moved through the month. (Click here to read Lena’s forecast in its entirety.)
Wanting to use the ‘Fairy of the Day app’ for this blog post (it had such a nice intro to the world with this Seven Days article!) I asked “What do we need to support us to ‘Keep going no matter what?’” It said:
Oh boy! Just what we need! The ‘Fairy of Heart Thumping Love’ with his words of ‘open’ and ‘easy’ and ‘be.’
Yes, let’s keep finding ways to tap into that daily; through writing and drawing, being in nature, sitting still, talking to young people, thinking good thoughts, laying down and breathing. There are SO many ways. Of course, all along the way, please be easy with yourself.
Let’s do it!
Onward and upward!
Emily and the Bluebird Fairies
Gratitude Fairy
Dear Friends of Bluebird Fairies,
First I’d like to welcome the people who signed up to be on the Bluebird Fairy mailing list during the South End Art Hop!
About twice a month you’ll receive a notice that I’ve written a new blog posting. These writings are about fairies from the Fairy Deck, or the Fairy of the Day app OR new ones.
All of you who signed up for the mailing list also entered a raffle. First, I think we’re ALL winners because we’re here together NOW in this moment. But, I would also like to announce that Alexa B was the winner of the:
The Gratitude Fairy! There she is, holding gold flowers and gently smiling as she proclaims “I know you are thankful to be alive.” (FYI-there are more fairies from this series that can be found at the Art Hop’s virtual shop here after typing “Emily Anderson” into the search engine.)
The South End Art Hop was, naturally, very different this year but, as always, very special. It felt so good to have the newly redone Bluebird Fairies’ studio be that sparkly, magical place people found after traveling through a meandering, quiet building to the 3rd floor. I recall happily a woman wearing a bright pink shirt and standing in our pink fairy store saying “This is the most positive place I’ve been in in a long time.”
Yes, for many reasons, the Gratitude Fairy felt like an important thing to be sharing. We are in a time when its easy to get out of balance because there is so much around us that makes us feel powerless. What has assisted me greatly was reading in a book called the Yamas and Niyamas by by Deborah Adele. In it she says “I have found three ways of thinking that shift me out of a feeling of powerlessness:
Practicing gratitude
Trusting in the moment
Thinking about others
Each time I’ve shifted into any of the above, they’ve pulled me through to a place where I become more compassionate with myself and others. And, when that happens the magic begins.
I hope this is helpful to you and please be in touch with me to let me know.
All the best,
Emily and the Bluebird Fairies
With her new Gratitude Fairy
Setting Sail for the Magical Year Ahead
Dear Friends of Bluebird,
I hope this finds you in good spirits.
We’re moving into the school year and in spite of all the shifts and uncertainty I’m feeling hopeful we’re stepping into a magical new year.
Here’s a fairy to support you in feeling that too:
Yep. ‘The Fairy of Setting Sail for the Magical Year Ahead’ with a yellow flag in one hand and a blue one in the other exclaiming ‘Oh Yeah’ and ‘Onward and Upward!’
Here in the South End Arts District we’re getting ready for the 28th annual South End Arts Hop.
Many of you know that this is Bluebird Fairies’ birthday. Our 6th! We’re moving into the 7th year of our existence.
What are we doing for Art Hop? You can check it all out in this Seven Days Art Hop Program
On page 15 you’ll see there’s a pre art hop event at 208 Flynn Ave. on Thursday between 1-4 called “No road to all decisions”. I’m a large accordion playing fairy in this show connected with the movement of the World’s Largest Filing Cabinet (by crane!) to it’s new pedestal. I’m excited to be performing with Stuart Paton of Taiko Drumming.
On Friday-Sunday I’ll be in our Bluebird Fairies studio which has been redesigned to have a small fairy shop and a lot of room for my weaving loom. We’ll have Fairy Decks, Prosperity Fairies, Mask Fairies, Fairy of the Day stands and, of course, LOTS of good vibes.
Our Art Hop hours are listed on Page 15. We’ll have some interactive activities in the hallway throughout the weekend so please stop by even if the hours don’t coincide.
Please note that on page 13 there’s an official Art Hop map. We’re #18 but if you really want to find us think of us being two floors above #17. We’ll have signs up.
Now, if you don’t want to be with people this year we totally understand. I’m happy to say that I created art work specifically for Art Hop and it can be viewed at VCAM/RETN at 208 Flynn AND ON-LINE. The 6 pieces comprise a work inspired by His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 8 Pillars of Joy. All pieces are for sale. I’ll keep making more so let me know if you’d like one made for you. (for those of you NOT in Vermont- you can get a big dose of this year’s Art Hop virtually- do check in out)
AND, if you still have your paper or virtual Art Hop program nearby PLEASE flip to the back page and check out the bright Bluebird Fairies ad on the last page. Created by Stephanie Salmon of Gotham City Graphics, its aim is to assist our goal to spread positivity world wide. If you don’t have the Fairy of the Day app. Consider getting it. If you have, please consider giving it a review. Click here for the app.
More than anything, though, thank you for continuing to support our work. We are happy to be a part of the world. Our goal this year is to keep supporting people in finding and maintaining positivity so it can be as magical as we deserve.
All the best to you all!
